Julie Reiter Greene is a curator, writer, & art historian based in New York. A specialist in postwar & contemporary art, she has worked for diverse public & private institutions over the past decade. Greene brings art-historical rigor, commercial strategy, & visual sensitivity to a range of projects.

Curated Sally Cook: Where Fantasy Has Bloomed, Painting and Poetry since the 1960s (May–Jun 2023), Eric Firestone Gallery, NYC, which T. DaFoe reviewed in artnet.

Liaising with the full spectrum of artists and estates, curators and collectors, gallerists and museum professionals, Greene approaches each project with tact and creativity. Her work ranges from organizing exhibitions to editing and contributing to catalogues; from conducting original art-historical and market research to creating sales materials; from advising private collectors to managing and cataloguing such collections; from devising strategies to promote underrepresented artists to managing their studios.

Curated Can Women Have One-Man Shows?: Nina Yankowitz Paintings (Sep–Oct 2022), Eric Firestone Gallery, NYC, which G. Adamson reviewed in Art in America.

In 2023, Greene joined The Museum of Modern Art as the Collection Specialist in the Painting and Sculpture Department focused on deaccessions and sales. She previously served as Director of Research for Eric Firestone Gallery; Director of Exhibitions Research for LGDR; and Head of Research for Dayan Rohatyn Art Services. She has also worked for Luxembourg & Dayan, the Jewish Museum, and the Sally & Wynn Kramarsky Collection.

Greene holds an M.A. in Art History from the Williams College Graduate Program and a B.A. in English from Yale University. Her fluency with 20th- and 21st-century genres (from Surrealism and Arte Povera to Minimalism and Feminist Art) underpins how she contextualizes and promotes art.

Curated Sounds Lasting and Leaving (Jan–Mar 2020), Luxembourg & Dayan, NYC, which J. Fateman reviewed in The New Yorker
